The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard resort is 45 minutes away from the Las Vegas and is the only ski resort located in southern Nevada. Mount Charleston contains most of the resort's trails and receives an average of 120 inches of snow each year. In addition, this resort typically has over 300 days of sunshine each year. Approximately 80 percent of the trails are geared toward intermediate and advanced skiers. This resort also rents gear and clothes.

Diamond Peak Ski Resort is a moderate sized resort and often less crowded than other nearby resorts. This resort is 30 miles from Reno, Nev. Almost 75 percent of the ski runs are focused toward beginner and intermediate skiers. In addition, most of the resort's 30 runs have views of the lake. Diamond Peak ski resort has the fourth largest drop in the area the longest ski run stretch at 2.5 miles in the Lake Tahoe area.
