Top Rated Texas RV Parks
Sometimes a few days off at home is not enough. Not matter how much you relax, sometimes the only thing that will cure what ails is a trip out of town. Texas offers RV campers a huge variety of sites to choose from in a variety of geographical areas. Whether heading toward Austin or San Antonio, Texas offers space to recharge your batteries.

Lakeside

Drive northeast of Houston 75 miles to the Lakeside RV Resort and Marina. Located on the shores of Lake Livingston in the small town of Onalaska, the resort sits right on the lake and offers some of the best RV park grounds in the state. The 102 sites are divided among three areas and 70 of them are scenic waterfront sites. Sites at the park are level, well maintained and clean. The park offers a swimming pool, restaurant and bar, off-leash pet area, clean restrooms and showers, a marina, playground, volleyball court and free Wi-Fi. The park is not far from the highway and is 10 miles from the larger town of Livingston, which offers a few modern diversions and entertainment.

The Vineyard

Park your RV at The Vineyards and escape the Dallas area. The Vineyards are a local favorite and offer campers a space that underwent a $2 million renovation in 2006. This park offers sites sitting directly on the water, in the midst of forest and spots perched high on a bluff. Water, electricity, grills and covered picnic areas are offered on 71 sites, while 25 premium sites offer full hook-ups. The park is adjacent to Scott's Landing Marina where guests will find a gas station. When not staring at the remarkably clean bathrooms, visitors can choose between a short nature trail, a playground, a pit for horseshoe enthusiasts and water sports. The town of Grapevine offers diversions from restaurants to golf courses.

Davis Mountains SP

Drive west toward the border and park the RV in Davis Mountains State Park. Set between the Guadalupe Mountains, Carlsbad Caverns and Big Bend National Park, the obvious bonus of this park is its location. The park offers a small store, interpretive center, large amphitheater, scenic drive and overlook, picnic areas, a playground and clean places to wash up. Frequent visitors to the park include javelinas, quail, deer and prairie chicken. Nature enthusiasts are further rewarded by numerous hiking and biking trails, the nearby McDonald Observatory and a park lodge that offers meals and events.
