The Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia runs along the historic Blue Ridge mountains, cleaving a path that takes it right through the Shenandoah National Forest and a number of state recreation areas. It is a well-used avenue for accessing hiking, climbing, nature watching and climbing sites. Moreover, many popular resort destinations line the parkway, meaning there are numerous options for accommodations for those visiting the area.

This family-owned motel is located in Front Royal, a popular tourist town just off of I-66, that sits at the northern gateway of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Big Meadows Lodge

Big Meadows is part of the Shenandoah National Park and is situated right on the middle of the Skyline Drive portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The lodge was built in 1939 from local stone and chestnut timber. There are 29 rooms and five cabins, with fireplaces in a select grouping of rooms. Lodge facilities include a restaurant, taproom, playground and gift shop.
