Coastal Trek Health & Fitness Resort

Coastal Trek Health & Fitness Resort on Vancouver Island has one million acres of old growth forest surrounding it. This all-inclusive resort offers health, hiking and fitness programs for stays of three to six days. The programs include guided hiking on central Vancouver Island and the islands close to it. The fitness director assesses each guest and then recommends a program with yoga and stretching classes, and workout routines in the fitness center. Two one-hour massages are part of the seven-day package. Cooking classes are available. The basic package, which includes guided hiking, room and meals, is for visitors who want to pay for their stay by the day. The resort offers fresh, organic food, bought locally. The lodge has 12 rooms with queen beds, private bathrooms and ambient lighting. Facilities include a great room with stone fireplace and high-beamed ceilings, a steam room and an outdoor hot tub with a commanding view.

Tyee Resort and Fishing Lodge

Tyee Resort and Fishing Lodge is located a few minutes away from Bamfield, a picturesque Vancouver Island fishing village. Tyee Resort boasts hiking and fishing guides on staff, its own fleet of boats and a main lodge, with room for 22 overnight guests. Most rooms have views of the ocean. The two-bedroom, two-bath Harbour View House is a renovated farmhouse. Amenities include a stereo system, TV, VCR, modern kitchen with a view of the ocean, and washer and dryer. The resort's packages include fishing and non-fishing packages, a lodging and meal package, and a group package. Salmon and halibut fishing expeditions are the resort's specialty, while outdoor enthusiasts enjoy scuba diving, hiking and kayaking.
