New Hampshire is a popular destination for winter sports and activities. Whether you are looking for hardcore ski trails or casual family vacation activities, there are many resorts that provide activities for guests of all skills and abilities. Winter activities can include alpine and Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing and even dog sledding.

Mount Washington Resort

Mount Washington Resort is located in Bretton Woods. The Mount Washington Resort hosts one of the largest cross-country areas in the East, the Breton Woods Nordic Center. During the winter, there are over 400 acres with over 100 trails for skiing and snowboarding. You can also participate in a wide variety of other activities, including ice skating, dog sledding, snowshoeing or ice climbing. Guests have access to the Rosebook Recreation Center's swimming pool, sauna, racket ball courts and exercise room. In addition, the Mount Washington Hotel is a National Historic Landmark, as the hotel was the center for the International Monetary Conference in 1944.

Waterville Valley

Waterville Valley offers 52 alpine trails, including some that "cut across one of New England's most spectacular 4,000-foot peaks." It also maintains 40 miles of cross-country trails for both classical and skating-style skiers. Snowboarding is another popular winter activity at Waterville Valley Resort. Snowshoeing, ice skating and sleigh rides are also available. Additionally, Waterville Valley provides daily childcare.

Cranmore Mountain Resort

Cranmore Mountain Resort is located in North Conway. It has over 200 acres for skiing, with their longest ski run being one mile. The summit elevation is 2,000 feet. In addition to day-time skiing, Cranmore also provides guests with night skiing. Cranmore's Arctic Blast Tubing Park, inflatable Fun Zone and fitness center with a climbing wall provide indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family.
