Hotels in Las Vegas Without Casinos

Hotels in Las Vegas Without Casinos
Bright lights, gambling, luxury hotels and glitz are the images many use to summarize the desert gambling mecca of Las Vegas. In recent years, the city has shifted its focus to pull in a wider range of visitors, including families and outdoor enthusiasts. In doing so, non-gaming hotels and resorts were developed to accommodate visitors who did not want gaming action in their hotel. Today, the trend flourishes with self-contained resorts that provide glamour, but without onsite casinos.

Las Vegas Outdoor Activities

Non-gaming hotels and resorts are perfect for tourists seeking to partake in the adventures of the surrounding desert. Outdoor day trips from Las Vegas include Red Rock Canyon, the Valley of Fire, Mt. Charleston, Lake Mead/Hoover Dam, Zion and Bryce Canyons, and the Grand Canyon. Many of these excursions contain scenic drives, hikes, trail rides, whitewater rafting and canoeing. At the end of the excursion, comfort, rest and relaxation is waiting in one of the following nearby hotels and resorts.

Trump International Hotel

Trump International Hotel, located at 2000 Fashion Show Drive, is pure Las Vegas luxury with a New York twist. As one of the newest resorts on the Strip, Trump International Hotel opened its 1,200-plus suites and two upscale restaurants to the public in March 2008. The look and feel of the resort emulates the lushness of New York's multi-million-dollar high-rise apartments.

Guests looking for relaxation after a day of hiking will find their much needed rest at the onsite spa. The hotel does not include a casino, but given that it's located in the heart of the Strip, a step outside offers a plethora of casinos to choose from.

The Platinum Hotel and Spa

Located a block and a half from the Las Vegas Strip, The Platinum Hotel, focuses on family-oriented visitors who seek a resort experience without a casino. This luxurious Las Vegas property with a spa focuses on its non-gaming and smoke-free atmosphere by emphasizing the enjoyment of other area activities. For example, Red Rock Canyon is located 17 miles from the hotel and is a recommended day trip.

Palms Place Hotel and Spa

The Palms has been a mainstay of the Vegas visitor seeking gambling action and the wilder side of the Las Vegas nightlife. However, the new Palms Place Hotel and Spa, located adjacent at 4381 W. Flamingo Road, is designed as a non-gaming sanctuary with the allure of the main Palms Hotel and Casino next door.

Included are a variety of pools, clubs, and world-class restaurants. Excursions into the surrounding desert are encouraged, as there is a certain peace of mind in knowing you will return to the rest, comfort and world-class treatment of the Palms Place Hotel and Spa.
