The Peabody Orlando Hotel

Awarded Four Diamonds by AAA and by Exxon/Mobile, the luxurious hotel is only 15 minutes from Orlando International Airport and just a short drive from the famous Orlando theme parks. Decorated with soothing natural colors, guest rooms feature premium-cable and network television, two dual-line telephones with data ports, high-speed Internet access, a mini television in bathrooms and fully stocked minibars. A wide variety of dining choices are available on site, including the B-Line Express cafe, the 24-hour 1950s-style B-Line Diner, the Capriccio Grill Italian steakhouse and Dux. Guests of Dux or the Capriccio Grill are able to make selections from the state-of-the-art Peabody Wine Cellar. One of the most popular attractions of the hotel is the March of the Peabody Ducks. Every day at 11 a.m, five North American mallard ducks, four hens and one drake leave their Royal Duck Palace penthouse to descend in their own special elevator to the hotel's atrium. Escorted by the regal Duck Master, the Peabody Ducks walk across a red carpet accompanied by the sounds of John Philip Sousa's King Cotton March. The ducks enter an orchid-crowned fountain in the Atrium Lobby and spend the day there until 5 p.m., when the march is reversed. Designated a Green Lodging Facility from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the hotel maintains environmentally friendly programs including saving 4,800 gallons of water per day by retrofitting the Lobby duck fountain to recycle water when the ducks are not in the fountain.
