The Top Pizza Restaurants in Bradenton, Florida

The Top Pizza Restaurants in Bradenton, Florida
After a long day of hiking, biking and canoeing in the nearby DeSoto National Park or the Myakka River State Park, visitors of Bradenton will be pleased to know that the city is home to many pizza places, almost too many to count. Pizza is as much a part of the culture as the salty sea air and the beach. To make the task of choosing easier, some of Bradenton's best pizza places are listed.

Vertoris Pizza House

What makes Vertoris Pizza House so special is not only its brick-oven thin-crust pizza, but the fact that a large portion of their menu is gluten free, making it one of the only gluten-free pizza places in the Bradenton area. The gluten-free menu includes everything from soups and appetizers like Foccacia bread served with roasted garlic butter to pizza to gourmet dinners and deserts. As an added bonus, they even serve gluten-free beer. The normal menu includes organic, vegan and MSG free items such as sauces and soy cheeses. The casual atmosphere makes Vertoris comfortable and enjoyable.

Demetrios' Pizza House

Setting the Bradenton pizza standards high since 1976, Demetrios' Pizza House is the definitive pizza place. Winner of numerous awards and praise including the "2007 Small Business of the Year" by the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Demetrios' constructs their pizzas out of homemade dough, made daily, and a heaping of toppings that include everything from anchovies to hamburger to jalapenos to pineapple and spinach. Demetrios' creates their own special blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese to cover pizzas ranging from the 8-inch personal mini to the 17-inch large family pizza. Specialty pizzas include vegetarian, meat and Greek.

Joey D's, Chicago Style Eatery & Pizzeria

Perfecting the art of the Chicago-style pizza is not an easy craft. Many try and very few outside of Chicago have managed to do it, but as Joey D's is owned by a Chicago native, this Chicago-style eatery ranks at the top of Bradenton pizza places. Made from homemade dough, Wisconsin cheese and a chunky sauce on top, the thick pizzas here can fill even the most voracious appetite. The pizzas are named after famous Chicago icons and places (i.e., Jordan's Garden and the Rush Street Stuffed Pizza), and the walls are filled with sports memorabilia and Chicago decor.
