The east entrance of Glacier National Park provides access to the Going to the Sun Road, which takes you to the park's west entrance. You'll find numerous hiking trails as well as snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing opportunities in the winter. Visit the uniquely designed St. Mary Visitor Center to finalize details. Meanwhile, while hotels are limited in the area, choose luxury accommodations right outside the park or rooms with more rustic appeal inside the park.

Located just five miles inside the east entrance to the park, this hotel offers rustic accommodations in the inn or cabins. Soaring mountain peak and lakeside views of St. Mary Lake give this hotel a spectacular setting. A restaurant serving American fare, a service station, gift shop and camp store offer additional amenities. Many trailheads start in this area of the park, or take a boat cruise with a guided hike along the lake.

Many Glacier Hotel

Situated near the park's east entrance on Swiftcurrent Lake, this hotel offers rustic but comfortable rooms in two five-story chalets. A large wrap-around balcony offers views of the lake, mountains and three glaciers. Take the two-mile round-trip hike to view Grinnell Glacier up close. You access the trailhead via a boat ride departing from near the hotel. Other amenities include swimming, fondue sampling, several restaurants, gift shop and snack bar.
