Dog Friendly Hotels in South Lake Tahoe
South Lake Tahoe offers a wide variety of outdoor activities for all seasons. There is also world-class dining, shopping and gambling. South Lake Tahoe is a dog-friendly location where you can hike, cross-country ski, snowshoe, swim and even dine with your dog. Whenever you travel with your dog, make sure he is friendly and well-behaved. Do not allow him to disturb other guests, and be sure to pick up after any messes that he leaves.

Fireside Lodge

The Fireside Lodge backs up to the National Forest. It offers backyard access to hiking trails, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. As the last lodge on the way to Emerald Bay, Fireside Lodge is close to the lake and water activities. Skiing is easily accessible. Guests of Fireside Lodge have access to free bicycles, kayaks and snowshoes.

Fireside Lodge welcomes dogs of all sizes. Leashed dogs are welcome everywhere on the premises with the exception of the Gathering Room. That room is the domain of the innkeeper's dogs. They request that unattended dogs be kenneled in their rooms. The inn provides dog-friendly coverings for the beds and old towels to keep your dog's feet clean. The inn offers suggestions for dog-friendly hikes, restaurants and beaches.

There is an additional dog fee of $20 per night, and the inn does require a security deposit for guests traveling with dogs.

The Deerfield Lodge at Heavenly

Your dog is welcome at The Deerfield Lodge. This boutique hotel is centrally located on Ski Run Boulevard. On one end of the street is the marina; the other end houses Heavenly Mountain ski lifts. This small, intimate hotel offers only 12 rooms or suites.

The Deerfield Lodge does not have a limit on dog size. There is an additional dog fee, and all proceeds from the extra charge are donated to the Lake Tahoe Humane Society. The Lodge requests that you pick up after your dog and be mindful of other guests. If you plan on heading out without your dog, they provide recommendations for dog sitters.

Park Tahoe Inn

The Park Tahoe Inn is an environmentally friendly member of the Green Hotel Association. All 116 of their rooms are smoke free. The Park Tahoe Inn is located directly across the street from the Heavenly Gondola Resort. The inn is two blocks from Lake Tahoe and a quick walk to local casinos.

This pet-friendly hotel has a limit of two pets per room, and there is an additional nightly pet fee.
