Bradley Beach
A small town with a year-round population of 5,000 grows to more than 30,000 during the summer. Located on the A haven for those who want a relaxing, party-free vacation, Bradley Beach is the spot for you. Visitors are treated to clean beaches with lifeguards and everything from sailing to swimming. For a more relaxing day, take a calming stroll down the boardwalk. Bradley Beach is known as one of New Jersey's most family friendly locations. Visitors can take the time to explore small town Main Street, take a fishing trip or enjoy one of the locally owned restaurants or a game of bowling at Bradley Beach Bowl. With convenient transportation throughout the city, it's easy to take a trip to Riley Park or catch a bus to the famous Asbury Park nearby.
Long Beach Island
At one time considered a vacation spot for the elite, Long Beach Island is now a thriving tourist spot for everyone. Enjoy swimming, sailing and fishing at the beach, or spend a day on land exploring and sightseeing. The main town is home to bike rental places for tours, golf courses, tennis courts as well as museums and other cultural activities. At night, take advantage of the area's active night life with a drink along the beach in a club or rent a party boat for a large group.
Point Pleasant
With a boardwalk full of arcades, carnival games and junk food, Point Pleasant is a big draw for tourists looking for fun. Locally owned seafood restaurant Captain Ed's should also be on tourists' list. For visitors with a more refined taste, visit a local spa or one of the dozen or so antique shops. Some of the higher end shops are Wildflower and Deja View Galleria.
Ocean City
Topping several "best of" lists, Ocean City is often called America's greatest family spot. A small city in southern New Jersey, Ocean City is home to a boardwalk known for family fun as well as clean white sand beaches. Since its beginnings in 1879, alcohol has been illegal, making it a perfect getaway for families with young children. Besides swimming, fishing and boating, kids of all ages can enjoy a stroll down the 2.5 mile boardwalk, complete with restaurants, rides and a music venue. Golf--both full scale and miniature--is also a favorite in Ocean City. With several mini courses and a few adult courses, the nice summer weather offers a perfect time to play a round. Tee times fill up quickly, so call ahead for reservations.
