Whether you want walk along the Avenue of the Stars, surf the Malibu waves, hike the Santa Monica Mountains or experience all the drama of Hollywood, a Los Angeles-area airport will welcome you to sunny California. Although the Los Angeles Airport is the primary entryway, there are numerous commercial and private airports situated throughout the greater regional area. Santa Monica Municipal Airport, Torrance Municipal Airport, Van Nuys Municipal Airport and Hawthorne are small venues that service private, commuter, non-commercial flights while airports in Ontario, Burbank, Orange County and Long Beach all service a variety of commercial flights.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

One of the most heavily trafficked airport in the world, the large, two-level airport complex is composed of nine passenger terminals. Food courts are located throughout the complex and offer fast-food restaurant chains. Cocktail lounges, gift shops, newsstands, restrooms, public telephones and business centers are also situated throughout the airport for the convenience of travelers. Passengers traveling on international flights are welcome to make purchases at any of the duty-free shops. Departing passengers check in on the upper level or can take advantage of the curbside check-in option. Arriving passengers claim their baggage and exit on the lower level. Taxi stands as well as car rental shuttles or off-site parking shuttles are available at each arrival terminal.

Bob Hope Airport, Burbank (BUR)

Conveniently located near Universal Studios, Disneyland and Hollywood, the Burbank airport provides easy access to downtown Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Several major airlines offer commuter shuttle flights along the West Coast as well as direct and connecting flights across the United States. The two-terminal airport features a food court, lounge, ATMs and gift shops. An Amtrak station is within walking distance of the main terminal and car rental counters are located in Terminal B, while shuttles and taxis are available in front of the terminal.

John Wayne Airport, Orange County (SNA)

The two-terminal, two-level airport shaped like a question mark is located near Newport Beach, approximately 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Departures are from the upper level while arrivals and baggage claim are located on the lower level. Travelers have access to a food court, lounge, ATMs and gift shops. Numerous West Coast commuter shuttle flights as well as several domestic flights by major airlines are available at the regional airport. Taxis and shuttle bus connections can be found in front of the lower terminal exits.

Long Beach Airport (LGB)

With direct flights throughout the United States as well as domestic and international connections, the single-terminal, two-level airport serves approximately 3 million commercial airline passengers annually. Boarding gates, baggage claim, gift shops, newsstands and cafes are located on the ground floor while restaurants and lounges are offered on the second floor. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the terminal and boarding lounges.
