Eugene at The Aramore

The Eugene at The Aramore chef was named one of the best new chefs of 2009 by Food and Wine Magazine. Other awards include Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. The cuisine is new American and the decor and style are modern and dressy. The menu includes pan-seared black bass, butter-poached lobster, confit of cod, roast pork belly, braised lamb shoulder and pheasant two ways. Prices in 2009 average from $7 to $44.

Canoe

Canoe has been inducted into the Nation's Restaurant Fine Dining Hall of Fame. The decor is rustic, featuring wood, brick and ironwork. The restaurant has booths and tables, and the kitchen is open to viewing. The ceiling is where the eatery's name comes from; it looks like the inside of a canoe. The menu includes Georgia mountain trout, sage-roasted pheasant, peppercorn-crusted New York strip and pan-roasted veal porterhouse. Average prices in 2009 range from about $19.95 to $32.95.

Repast

Repast has been featured on "The Martha Stewart Show" and serves American dishes with an Asian influence. The restaurant has been open since 2006 and is a multiple award winner including "Best New Restaurant" by Esquire Magazine and "Rising Star Chef" by starchefs.com. The style atmosphere is casual/elegant. The menu includes sugar cane-skewered sea scallops, chorizo-crusted berkshire pork chop, grilled painted hills hanger steak, butter-poached halibut and porcini-crusted painted hills filet mignon. Average prices in 2009 range from about $18 to $32.

Red Snapper

Red Snapper has been in business since 1985 and has a new American style cuisine. The style and atmosphere are casual/elegant. The menu includes breast of chicken Florentine, New York steak au poivre, baked stuffed flounder, curried shrimp and scallops and Louisiana snapper. Prices in 2009 range from about $12.95 to $25.95.
