List of Honolulu Restaurants

List of Honolulu Restaurants
Honolulu has it all---swimming, surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, diving and lots of good eating. Your main culinary decision is whether to eat a big breakfast of pineapple pancakes, or save room for a fresh salmon sandwich at lunch. And that's not even mentioning dinner when you can indulge in a variety of innovative regional cuisine.

Breakfast

Head to Eggs 'n Things for a fabulous, filling morning meal---or go there to enjoy breakfast foods any time of day. You can have your eggs with a half dozen different accompaniments such as Vienna or Portuguese sausage, corned beef hash, spam, ham, bacon or steak. Create your own omelet, or try one that comes with onions, cheese, mushrooms, ham, Canadian bacon or tofu.

Be sure to taste the pancakes or waffles, too. You can order them with pineapple, banana, coconut, chocolate chips or macadamia nuts. Crepes suzettes are another popular choice, served with sour cream, strawberries, blueberries or a combination.

Lunch

For a delicious lunch in a gorgeous setting, stop by the Pavilion Cafe at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. The cafe, located in the Luce Pavilion Complex, looks out on flowering gardens highlighted by sculptures and a waterfall.

The menu features a range of fresh, well prepared dishes using local ingredients. Salads include pan-seared salmon, and soba noodles with mahi mahi. Sandwiches range from portobello mushroom to chopped salmon steak. Be sure to sample the desserts, too, such as the chocolate-walnut torte and the fresh fruit crisp.

Alan Wong's is famous for its dinner menu of delectable Hawaiian regional cuisine. Its creative appetizers include tempura ahi wrapped in nori; steamed clams with kalua pig; and roasted duck nachos with homemade tapioca chips. Seafood entrees range from grilled mahi mahi with wasabi sauce to linguine with shrimp, clams and a black bean sauce. The desserts are delectable, too---think five kinds of brulees, or strawberries Romanoff with goat cheese panna cotta and strawberry-hibiscus soup.
