List of Motels in Crawford, Nebraska
Crawford, Nebraska brings all of the best elements of small town living right out onto the porch to share with visitors. Crawford sits amidst a fantastic array of natural resources and you can be sure that there will always be something to do--whether that means birdwatching, searching for fossils or cross country skiing.

High Plains Homestead

The Kesselring family runs the High Plains Homestead Drifter Cookshack and Bunkhouse. Meals are prepared over an open fire, with both cool treats and hot coffee available. Each of the rooms has been created to depict an aspect of the old west. They have a full western town with a jailhouse, schoolhouse, saloon, blacksmith shop, post office and mercantile. There is an outdoor pool and the rooms have air-conditioning, but no phones or television. The proprietors suggest that this way, you will better enjoy the bird song, the wind and the lovely silence of the area.

Bring your horse. They offer feed and board and plenty of terrain to explore. Guided and unguided fossil hunts and geocaching adventures are part of the activities. The homestead is near Toadstool Park geological site and Agate Fossil Beds. Toadstool Park has a one mile trail which carries you past resident birds. The park features birds which are common to the locale and will help fill out your life list. Toadstool Park also contains fossils, geological formations and a three mile hiking trail leading to Hudson-Meng Bison Kill. Agate Fossil Beds provides wildflower viewing and fossil trails.
