List of Florida Attractions

List of Florida Attractions
Florida is the southeastern-most location in the United States, boasting year-round tropical temperatures and many attractions for outdoor enthusiasts. Florida has more theme parks, resorts and venues than any other state in the country.

Disney World

Disney World, opened in October 1971, is one of the largest, most visited attractions in the world, with four theme parks that make up the entire resort. The attraction features the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom. Also included in the resort are two water parks, 23 hotels and entertainment and dining locations.

You will also find the Fort Wilderness Resort, which features campsites with a frontier theme for only $43 per night. There are more than 700 acres of trails to explore and you'll have the chance to see deer and other wildlife. Disney was the vision and dream Walt Disney. In spite of popular belief, Disney World is not in Orlando, Florida, but has its own city called Lake Buena Vista. The resort is open year-round.

Sea World

Sea World Orlando is part of a marine park chain and was opened in 1973. The park's icon is Shamu the Orca Whale. The park features dolphin shows, penguins, sea lions and other aquatic animals. Thrill seekers can experience the shark encounter, where visitors walk in a submerged tube through a shark's tank. At Discovery Cove you have the opportunity to snorkel with thousands of fish, explore the coral reefs and swim with the dolphins. You will find three roller coasters, including the famous Journey to Atlantis Water coaster. The park is open to visitors year round.
