The People's Republic of China (PRC) boasts a rich cultural and historical heritage and offers outdoor enthusiasts many attractions. Hikers can trek Beijing to visit the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. Xinjiang province has attracted skiers during the winter and mountain climbers on Silk Road explorations in the summer. Bicyclists flock to Sichuan province for its loop tour of the Three Kingdoms, a historic period around 200 A.D. As Chinese airlines continue to expand their global routes, tourists have more choices for air travel.

Air China

Air China Limited, known as Air China, has been a member of Star Alliance, a network of worldwide airlines since December 2007. Code sharing partnerships with 18 airlines, including Alitalia, United Airlines, Korean Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and US Airways has expanded its global route coverage. Perceived as a domestic leader in terms of brand value, Air China holds executive status with the distinct task of transporting Chinese national dignitaries traveling abroad and foreign leaders visiting China.

Additional Traveling Tips

Look for an English-speaking guide who can translate China's rich history to fully understand what you see.

Bring the business card for the hotel where you are staying. The card will bear the address in Chinese and a map of your hotel should you require assistance in getting back.

After walking or hiking all day, look for signs that show two feet and treat yours to Chinese reflexology or TuiNa (massage).
