Sardi's
Sardi's is a Broadway theater district institution in New York City. Long a favorite of celebrities, the restaurant honors many of them with caricatures on its "Wall of Fame." Vincent Sardi founded the eating establishment in 1921. He died in 2007; his grandson, Sean Ricketts, now manages it. Ricketts said, "We occasionally have special events in conjunction with Broadway events, such as the Broadway flea market and new show openings." Sardi's serves beautifully executed American continental cuisine that tempts the palate for lunch and dinner every day except Monday. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays feature a business lunch special that includes choice of appetizer or dessert, entrée and coffee. The restaurant sells gift items such as windbreakers, ashtrays, sweaters, mugs, baseball caps and prints by Richard Baratz.
