List of the Cheapest Hotels in Baguio

List of the Cheapest Hotels in Baguio
Baguio is located in the northwest Philippines and although close to the coastline, rests high in the mountains, giving spectacular views of the surrounding countryside as well as numerous trails for hiking and bike riding. Also, due to its high elevation, the city is known around the area for its strawberry production as well.

Microtel Inn and Suites, Baguio City

Despite being in southeast Asia, which is known for its incredibly inexpensive hotels (excluding Singapore), the city of Baguio is partially immune because of its unpopular high elevation. However, if you're in the city when night comes, you will have no choice but to stay in one of the hotels, because the trek or bus ride through the mountains will take some time. As of 2009, the Microtel Inn and Suites is one of the least expensive hotels at around $69 a night. All rooms will have cable television, as well as a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and kitchenette. While staying in the hotel you will also have access to wireless Internet. The Microtel Inn is near the Burnham Park, which will give you a great opportunity to bike ride or backpack through the hilltops of a Filipino park. There are even waterways through the park, so you will be able to hop on a boat or rent one for yourself.

Green Valley Country Club/Hotel and Resort

Although there are several inexpensive hotels, very few of them surpass the mid-range price of $70 and the Green Valley Country Club/Hotel and Resort's atmosphere. While in the hotel you will have incredible views of the countryside (which will help you plan your next bike outing).

All rooms come equipped with a refrigerator, cable television, telephone, kitchenette and mini bar. You will also have access to a billiards table, tennis court, bowling, barber shop and room service. Green Valley is located near several strawberry farms. Strawberries are rather small compared to what you would find in the United States and have a slightly sweeter taste to them. While here, you can either purchase already picked strawberries or pay a small amount (just a few American dollars) and pick your own berries. Make sure to bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty, because the patches will be wet and muddy. Bring a lightweight sweatshirt as well because it can actually get a little cool in this higher elevation.

Hotel Supreme

Hotel Supreme is another mid-range hotel that has a surprising amount to offer. During your stay, when you're not sitting by one of the pools or receiving a massage, you can work off the calories from all the Philippines cuisine by taking a stop in the health club. In addition, all rooms come with a free daily newspaper, as well as a refrigerator, cable television, hair dryer, mini bar and balcony overlooking the city. Make your way down to the City Market, which is only about one kilometer away from the hotel, if you are looking for a real hiking workout. There will be just about everything you can think of in the market, from food to clothing and other items as well. Simply checking out all the market stalls will exercise those legs enough so you'll be tired the next morning. Burnham Park is also only a few kilometers away.
