Cheap Waikiki Hotels

Cheap Waikiki Hotels
A trip to Hawaii can be expensive, but cheap Waikiki hotels can help ease the burden. Because Waikiki is such a small area, the biggest difference between budget hotels in Waikiki and expensive hotels is the amenities provided by the hotel. Any Waikiki hotel, inexpensive or expensive, is less than a 15-minute walk to the beach. It's also close to Diamond Head and Manoa Falls, both great hiking destinations. Saving on hotel rates means you'll be able to spend more on other activities, like snorkeling, boat rides and skydiving.

Hawaiian Monarch Hotel

Waikiki's Hawaiian Monarch Hotel is located at the eva (west) side of Waikiki. The budget hotel caters to both American and Japanese tourists, featuring a bilingual staff and Japanese video rentals. It has an outdoor pool and coin laundry, ideal if you're staying more than a week. Additionally, hotel rooms feature a compact refrigerator and microwave, which you can use to heat up last night's leftovers.

Continental Surf Hotel

The Continental Surf Hotel is in the middle of Waikiki on the less-touristy Kuhio Avenue. While the hotel does not have its own swimming pool, it is just a five-minute walk to Prince Kuhio and Waikiki beaches. Continental Surf has a fitness center on the penthouse floor and offers free Wi-Fi Internet throughout the hotel. Your room will have a microwave and compact refrigerator, voicemail on your telephone, and a TV with 12 cable channels. You'll also find an in-room safe, though there is a nominal fee to use it.

Castle Ocean Resort Hotel

Situated close to the beach, tennis courts, a park, the Honolulu zoo and the aquarium, the Castle Ocean Resort Hotel is ideal for families. The hotel also features two pools that have a large sun deck for sun bathing, if you prefer the pool to the ocean. While all rooms offer a compact refrigerator and microwave, suites are still a bargain and feature kitchenettes, which allow you to save even more money by cooking your own food.

With the black-out drapes, you know that you'll be able to get a good night's rest.
