Montbleu is a luxury resort and casino located minutes from South Lake Tahoe. The resort offers many rooms with a spectacular view of the lake or the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Dining options located in the casino include the steakhouse Ciera, a winner of the AAA four-diamond award in 2008. Montbleu also features a full-service spa and an indoor heated pool designed to resemble a tropical lagoon. As of October 2009, standard rooms start at approximately $60 per night, with suites ranging from $375 to well more than $1,000.

Lakeside Inn and Casino

The Lakeside Inn and casino is a local favorite among South Lake Tahoe residents. This small casino has all of the amenities of larger facilities, including table games such as blackjack and poker, slot machines, race and sports book, and keno. Pets are welcome at the Lakeside Inn with an additional charge of $20 per night and pet owners are encouraged to call ahead to reserve one of the limited number of pet-friendly rooms. Room rates start at $50 as of October 2009, although discount packages are often available on the casino's website.

Harrah's Lake Tahoe

Harrah's Lake Tahoe is an 18-story casino with more than 500 guest rooms, including luxury suites starting at $2,000 per night. The hotel features a promenade of retail shops where guests can purchase sportswear and equipment or rent skis and snowboards during the winter season. Harrah's also offers private yacht day cruises, which include a light buffet, to experience Lake Tahoe from the water. As of October 2009, the price of each cruise is $40 per adult and $28 for children 12 and under. Additional amenities include a full-service spa and hair salon, indoor pool and VEX nightclub.
