Casino Hotels in Reno, Nevada

Casino Hotels in Reno, Nevada
Reno, Nev., is often described as "the biggest little city in the world." This saying is especially applicable to the topography which provides for world-class hiking, rafting and kayaking. There are three exciting casino hotels in Reno, which also are proximate to the best of the area's outdoors attractions.

Circus Circus Hotel Casino

Always a family favorite, the Circus Circus combines carnival games and circus shows along with the traditional Reno casino action. The hotel boasts a wide array of dining choices, a modern fitness center and the famous Midway filled with games and attractions for kids of all ages. The Circus Circus also is the Reno casino hotel located closest to the red and white cliffs, which are only a half hour's drive away. Make sure you aren't too mesmerized by the natural beauty of this area and remain cognizant of the many snakes who call this area home.

Harrah's Reno Hotel and Casino

Harrah's is in the middle of all the Reno action yet still within a stone's throw of the thrilling kayaking at Whitewater Park. Frommers calls the rooms at Harrah's "modern, clean and comfortable" and refers to the health club as "extensive." When done trying your luck in the casino, the Truckee River Whitewater Park at Wingfield is a short walk away from the hotel. The park offers rafting and kayaking for water lovers of all skill levels. Dining choices at Harrah's include a popular sushi bar along with a highly rated steak house.

Grand Sierra Resort and Casino

Kayak Magazine highly recommends the Grand Sierra Resort, highlighting its dining choices, shopping and casino action. In addition to being near world-class kayaking, the Grand Sierra is a short five-minute drive away from the Huffaker Hills Trailhead, which provides access to the amazing views experienced upon hiking to the summit of the Twin Peaks. The Grand Sierra has both the largest casino as well as the most expansive RV park in the Reno/Tahoe area.
