Mango Bay - Spa
Mango Bay is a beautiful and more intimate resort nestled in St. James on Barbados' western coast. As an all-inclusive resort, it offers all the relaxing amenities a tourist would expect, plus many more. For the adventure-minded traveler, Mango Bay offers activities to encourage sightseeing and outdoor recreation.
Onsite, the hotel offers free lessons and access to various water sports, such as Hobie Cat sailing, waterskiing and kayaking. Off-property excursions include a two-hour catamaran cruise that allows visitors to snorkel and swim with various species of sea turtles. A glass-bottom boat tour is also available for guests to explore underwater marine life. Island tours are provided on various days of the week to discover hidden portions of Barbados.
The House
The House offers similar amenities to that of Mango Bay. However, The House appeals more to the secluded, adults-only crowd. In other words, this is a perfect resort for tranquility and serenity before and after an adventurous trip into Barbados. The House does not offer any onsite activities, but its sister property, Tamarind Cove, which is adjacent to The House, provides complimentary watersports including windsurfing, waterskiing, boogie boarding and tube rides. In essence visitors to The House are receiving two resort experiences for the price of one.
Outside excursions are scheduled with The House's tour operator or concierge, and may incur an additional charge. Tours and activities are based on the desire and schedule of the visitor and include activities from hikes through the area's tropical jungles and cave exploration, to historic plantation tours. If it's listed in Barbados' Destination Guide, the hotel can arrange the activity.
Almond Beach Village
Almond Beach Village offers the adventurous tourist some of the most enthralling experiences in Barbados with its many excursion options. For an additional price, the resort offers an off-road 4x4 excursion package that takes visitors off the beaten path. If off-road is not enough, there is the Atlantis Submarine Tour designed to take tourists 150 feet below sea level. Back at sea level, they also offer a five-hour sea safari and turtle feeding trips.
Excursions are not offered on a daily basis and fill up quickly; therefore, reservations are required. Onsite activities include Aqua-Cyles, Hobie Cat sailing, windsurfing, reel fishing and kayaking.
