Wedding Hotels in the Grand Bahamas

Wedding Hotels in the Grand Bahamas
Grand Bahama Island is the fourth largest island in the Bahamas, consisting of three main areas: Freeport (which is the island's capital city), East Grand Bahama and West Grand Bahama. Beautiful weather, stunning coastlines and crystal blue ocean views have made this destination a favorite among young couples looking to get married within a tropical resort paradise. Due to this demand, several hotels have sprung up, eager to accommodate weddings of all shapes and sizes.

Pelican Bay Resort at Lucaya

The Pelican Bay Resort offers luxurious suites in an island-village style theme, complete with red Spanish tile roofs, rattan furniture and verandas overlooking the neighboring bays on either side of the hotel. The location is especially isolated, perfect for a tranquil matrimonial experience. Pelican Bay specializes in weddings with parties of up to 80 guests, providing custom-designed celebrations based on the wishes of the wedding party. The hotel can plan the decor, the cuisine, the music and even the wedding cake. Most commonly, the weddings themselves are held on the designated private beach of a small nearby island that guests are ferried to.

Radisson Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort

In addition to being just a few dozen feet from a gorgeous, white sandy beach, the Radisson offers many amenities that a destination wedding hotel is expected to offer, include concierge service, spa treatments and a secluded "quiet pool." It also has several amenities that are not as common, including a water-sports center, a 200-foot water slide and a casino. Wedding parties can expect the resort to take care of every detail, even going so far as to create a personalized web page for guests to RSVP and book rooms. Bride and groom have a choice to marry in the resort's gazebo, garden or on the sand.

Old Bahama Bay

Located at the west end of the island, Old Bahama Bay resides on a secluded beach decked out with hammocks and lounge chairs. The outside walls are painted in soothing pastels, and amenities include a 75-foot-long heated free-form pool, a fitness center, massages, nail care, and a 72-slip marina for those who like to travel by boat. The resort also provides complimentary use of snorkeling gear, kayaks, Hobie Cat sailboats and windsurfers. The hotel will cater to a wedding party of up to 80 guests with an after-dinner party at the hotel's chic restaurant and create a personal web page for posting pictures of the ceremony so the happy newlyweds can show off to those who couldn't make the trip. The resort has also set up two programs that allow the bride and groom to customize every detail of their perfect day.

Royal Oasis Golf Resort & Casino

The Royal Oasis is known for being a gambler's paradise and a golf junkie's heaven, consisting of a 28,000-foot gaming space and two USGA-rated championship golf courses, all nestled in a beautiful corner of the island by rolling brooks and lush tropical foliage. The resort also has three heated free-form pools, nine tennis courts and a night club. The resort's garden area has gradually become a more popular spot for couples looking to get married while also enjoying all of the fun that the resort has to offer.
