Famous Restaurants in Dallas

Famous Restaurants in Dallas
If you're looking for the most famous restaurants in Dallas, steakhouses will be at the top of the list. The Metroplex has numerous steakhouses featuring their own styles of prime rib, rib eye and porterhouse, usually with seafood choices as well. Large burgers also are a staple, and there are plenty of Tex-Mex restaurants that offer the flavor of Texas' southern neighbors.

Bob's Steak and Chop House

Bob's Steak and Chop House is located near Highland Park on Dallas' north side as well as in Fort Worth, Grapevine and Plano. Along with serving prime cuts of rib eye, mignon, T-bone, strip and porterhouse, Bob's also serves chops of veal, lamb and pork. The seafood includes broiled and fried shrimp, salmon, crab cakes and lobster tails.

Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse

The Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse, located in the historic West End district, has been a staple of Dallas since 1880. The buffalo filet mignon was called "one of the best steaks in the nation" on the Food Network. The Y.O Ranch has numerous other steaks like the cowboy-cut (bone-in) rib eye, chops that include elk, porterhouse and venison, and seafood that includes trout almandine, lobster tail and sea bass.

Del Frisco's

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House is located off the Tollway north of Highway 635 as well as a second location in downtown Fort Worth. Known primarily for its steaks and lobster, the restaurant also offers a seafood plate of the day, fried shrimp, tuna and salmon, multiple types of crab leg plates and a list of martinis and wines.

El Fenix

The El Fenix Mexican restaurant first opened in Dallas in 1918 and now has 15 locations in the area, including ones near both major airports in the Metroplex for travelers arriving or waiting to depart. The chain is famous for its salsa, which is shipped across the world. It has multiple varieties of enchilada, taco and chalupa plates along with numerous combo platters. Anyone in a party not interested in Tex-Mex can try chicken fried steak or hamburgers.

Kincaid's Hamburgers

Dallas' western neighbor of Fort Worth is home to Kincaid's Hamburgers, a favorite among Metroplex locals. The burgers are known for being much larger than those at fast-food restaurants, served with fries or onion rings. Its original location is on Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth, but it also has locations in Arlington, Southlake and even one inside LaGrave Field, the home of the minor league baseball Fort Worth Cats.
