Top Chinese Restaurants in the South Bay Area

Top Chinese Restaurants in the South Bay Area
The South Bay is an ideal location for the active person. Being located in Southern California, healthy food options can easily be found at most restaurants. Additionally, a short drive or even a short walk to the beach is rarely out of the question when visiting restaurants in the South Bay. This holds true for the various Chinese restaurants that South Bay has to offer. From healthy fare to close proximity to the beach, there is no shortage of options for the outdoor enthusiast with the appetite for Chinese food.

Big Wok Mongolian Bar-B-Q Restaurant

Located in Manhattan Beach, Big Wok Mongolian Bar-B-Q offers a unique cuisine experience in the Los Angeles area. For around $10, Big Wok offers an all-you-can-eat buffet where the chefs cook the food right in front of you. You get to choose the vegetables, the meats and the oils that will be used to cook your meal. You even get to choose the quantity of each. Thus, not only do you get the entertainment experience of watching your food being prepared by trained chefs, you also get to ensure that your food is healthy. For the active person, this is a great benefit since eating heavy, fatty foods can make it difficult for your body to handle strenuous activity. The other great aspect of Big Wok's is its location on Sepulveda Boulevard. Sepulveda is one of the main streets in South Bay, leading to Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. If you eat at Big Wok's, most other activities and destinations are a simple and quick drive down Sepulveda.

Chef Wang's Kitchen

Chef Wang's Kitchen is a hidden gem located on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach. It is a very small restaurant that has been serving Chinese food to the Hermosa Beach residents for over a decade with a friendliness unique to family-owned businesses. Chef Wang's Kitchen is also one of the only Chinese restaurants in South Bay that offers take-out. One of the most appealing aspects of Chef Wang's Kitchen is that it is located on a stretch of Pier Avenue that is home to an eclectic collection of small stores and shops unique to Hermosa Beach. Before or after visiting Chef Wang's Kitchen, a wine store, antique shop and several boutique clothing stores are a short walk away. The beach is also no more than a 10-minute walk away. After eating, a nice walk or even a bike ride on The Strand are possibilities.

The Dragon

Dragon is a sports bar located on the Hermosa Beach Pier. As with nearly all the sports bars on the Hermosa Beach Pier, Dragon offers food far surpassing the quality one would expect. Like the American and Japanese food the Dragon offers, the Chinese food is flavorful and comes in large quantities. Dragon offers the best option if you want to satisfy your appetite for Chinese food and have to watch your favorite sports team play a game. The best part about Dragon is that it is located on the beach. The patio offers a beautiful view of the ocean while you are dining. If you are able to bring a backpack or ride a bike down to the pier, The Strand and volleyball courts are no more than three minutes away. If you want a fun day at the beach along with Chinese food and a fun, easy-going environment, Dragon is the place to go.
