Top Restaurants in San Francisco
As a major historical and business center in California, San Francisco offers a wide array of dining experiences able to satisfy a metropolitan clientele. Local wine valleys, seafood colonies and independent farms give San Francisco restaurants the ability to create a variety of fresh dishes for any taste. If you're thinking of visiting the San Francisco area, here are some restaurants that can easily please your palate.

Castagnola's

Castagnola's Fisherman's Wharf is located in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. Castagnola's specializes in serving seafood delivered fresh daily to the restaurant's own dock on San Francisco Bay. Thomaso Castagnola, the founder of Castagnola's, is believed to have created and served the world's first crab cocktail at the 1915 World's Fair, a dish the restaurant still serves today. An upstairs banquet room can fit parties of 200 and includes an outdoor patio with views of the Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower and the downtown skyline. Castagnola's is adjacent to a stop on San Francisco's historic F-line public trolley, the world's oldest publicly-operating streetcar line.
