Top Restaurants in Dallas
Dallas diners have a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. Of course, there are Texas steakhouses, and ethnic infusions of Mexican, Indian and Southern-Cajun to choose from, but for health-conscious travelers, the top restaurants in Dallas specialize in local food. With so many farms and ranches in Texas, it's not hard to find fresh, tasty food.

Bliss Raw Cafe

Dallas' Bliss Raw Cafe has developed a reputation for delicious, gourmet raw food dishes. The "Dallas Observer" chose Bliss as the Best Vegetarian Restaurant in its 2009 "Best of Dallas" contest. None of the food is cooked over 115 degrees F, preserving the enzymes that give energy and aid digestion. The entrees and desserts, including Chocolate Bliss and other elixirs, are entirely vegan and all but one menu item is also gluten free. In addition to the restaurant, owners teach raw food classes throughout the Dallas area and hold events regularly to educate the public about the benefits of a raw food diet. The restaurant serves fresh local herbs and produce in season. Nothing on the menu has added sugar or other chemicals and Bliss avoids genetically modified food products in favor of nature's original fruits and vegetables, organically grown.

Villa O, Top Italian Restaurant in Dallas

The O in Villa O stands for original, organic and oceanic. That oddity didn't stop the "Dallas Observer" from naming it the "Best Italian Restaurant in Dallas" for 2008 and 2009. The decor and cuisine are inspired by the Amalfi coast of Italy, with Mediterranean flavors and nautical decor and a neighborhood vibe that visitors find refreshing. It strives to serve organic, wild, locally grown, and locally pastured food products and offers a fresh menu of homemade pasta, wood-fired pizza, and fresh, rich desserts.
