Tourists flock to Antalya, Turkey, a historic city on the Mediterranean Sea. Palm-lined streets, a charming old quarter, ancient Roman ruins and natural beauty characterize this city. For the outdoor enthusiast, there is no lack of outdoor activities. The nearby Kursunlu and Upper and Lower Duden waterfalls offer the hiker exciting adventures. Water sports such as fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling abound. You can go caving in the Paleolithic Age Karain Cave or hike at Bey Dagi (Olympos) National Park.

Dogan Hotel

The Dogan Hotel is on the narrow streets of Kaleci District, the old part of Antalya. The hotel has 41 rooms in four buildings. Room amenities include a TV and satellite reception, air conditioning, a shower, hair dryer, telephone and radio; some have a sea view and balcony. A bar, library and TV room are in the lobby. You can sunbathe on the terrace or sit by the waterfall in the garden. The hotel serves summer buffet breakfasts outdoors or in the 60-seat restaurant. A small beach is about a half-mile from the hotel; a larger beach is 15 minutes away. Swim in the pool or relax in the Jacuzzi.

Marina Residence and Restaurant

The Marina Residence and Restaurant offers packages, which include breakfast every day, a complimentary fruit basket and turndown service. The action package features rafting and canoeing, an off-road Jeep safari, hiking, parachuting and a visit to an authentic Turkish bath; all tours include lunch, but not drinks. Some rooms overlook the harbor; all are furnished with chairs, a desk, a TV, wireless Internet service, a minibar, hair dryer, climate control, a makeup mirror, bidet, desk and sofa bed. This hotel has a sauna, fitness equipment, a bar, coffee shop and gift shop, restaurant, laundry facilities, and an on-site marina. Free local calls, a shower/tub combination, a phone in the bathroom and complimentary breakfast round out the amenities in the 41 rooms.

Porto Bello Hotel

If you prefer a large resort and spa, the Porto Bello Hotel has three handicapped, 279 standard and 28 family rooms, along with 28 junior and eight senior suites. All rooms have views of the Mediterranean Sea, direct dial phones, satellite TV, safes, air conditioning, hair dryers, balconies, bathtubs, a mini bar and free wireless Internet service. The Palm restaurant serves buffets, the Allegria and Mangal restaurants are full service, and there are four a la carte restaurants featuring Mexican, Italian, seafood and barbecue dishes. Ten bars, a spa, tennis courts, sauna, heated indoor pool, free parking and Turkish bath are other features of this property. On-site activities include beach volleyball, ping pong, and water sports.
