Travelers often make day trips to New Jersey from New York City, and while there they dine on some of New Jersey's finest foods. New Jersey's restaurant scene is not as well known as its larger neighbor, but in recent years it has started to get some notice. Within easy access to New York, visitors can find many fun and interesting restaurants in New Jersey to satisfy their culinary needs.

Ri Ra Atlantic City

Built from the remains of real Irish pubs, the Ri Ra Atlantic City offers diners traditional Irish cuisine as well as American dishes with an added Irish flare. From the Guinness BBQ burger to the Emigrant's Corned Beef and Cabbage, both lunch and dinner is an international experience. The Guinness continues to flow throughout the night as live bands almost every night performing traditional Irish and original music. The Ri Ra is located at the heart of the Tropicana Casino & Resort just off of the boardwalk in Atlantic City.

Adega Grill

The Adega Grill mixes luxurious Portuguese and Spanish dining with the fun of a retro-bar and lounge. The main dining room is elegantly fashioned, creating an Old World feeling complete with live piano music. The menu includes organic meats, fresh seafood and fresh vegetables. Expect huge portions. The extensive wine list gives diners the choice of more than 180 international and domestic wines. After dinner, head to the connected lounge to enjoy a cocktail and dance on the light up dance floor as live DJs perform until the early morning hours. The lounge also has special theme nights where audience participation is encouraged. The Adega Grill is located in Newark's North Ironbound neighborhood.

Oddfellows Restaurant

Oddfellows brings a bit of New Orleans, including Mardi Gras with live music and beads, to New Jersey. Traditional Cajun and Creole cooking is the specialty here. Named after a famous New Orleans' cemetery, this restaurant is well and alive on the inside with live DJs on Friday and Saturday nights. The menu includes a variety of jambalayas, crawfish, catfish, and po'boys. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon Oddfellows offers an expansive Louisiana Brunch that is sure to satisfy anyone's Big Easy needs. The restaurant is located directly across from the Hoboken PATH station.
