Description

Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife

The Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife is a collaboration between Light My Fire and Mora of Sweden. Together they have created a sharp and sturdy knife with a built-in fire starter. Sandvik 12C27 stainless-steel blade sits atop a grippy rubber handle; at the other end, a hidden firestarter rod can be pulled out. Swedish FireSteelĀ® firestarter is ideal for lighting campfires and stoves; it work equally well dry or wet, and provides predictable performance at all altitudes.

Great Package

This is a great combination of fire steel and knife. The price is right if you compare the Mora knife without the fire steel and the fire steel. This is a perfect camping companion. I would not recommend this as a survival or bushcraft knife but it is perfect for general camping and backpacking needs.

Great first knife

Very good first knife for 8 year old. The sheath is sturdy and the blade is fixed and sharp so it minimizes chances of severe injury. The fire starter works well and can actually light a fire.

Good addition to camping kit

I admit I didn't get this from REI - they had sold out. But I really wanted to and it's the thought that counts right? Also I think it is important for other users to know that this is a good and useful product.I had been wanting a new general knife for a while. I'd looked at foldables and bigger blades and all that. Being in Europe - knives are sometimes funny things. So having an 8" full hafted blade hanging on your hip may be seen as inflammatory.SO - this knife falls into a sort of "safe" area. It'

Good Knife but not great

It's a good knife and it's nice to have the flint striker included. I don't like the plastic piece that is attached to the lanyard of the knife bc it clinks alot against the plastic of the sheath and is VERY annoying. The sheath is kind of bulky and it doesn't attach easily to a pocket or hip. The knife is useful however and does make great ribbon sticks for fires.

Good knife, great fire starter.

The other reviews covered all the great features of this knife + fire starter. I'll just reiterate what they say:- knife is very well made, stays sharp, easy to sharpen- really like the tactile feel and ergonomics of the handle- fire starter is one of the better ones I have used- sheath fit perfectly- love the color, makes it easy to find when you drop it at nightAt first, I though the way the fire starter fits into the handle would eventually lead to a lost knife, or lost fire starter. Nope. Never had a problem.I'm going to buy one for each of my Scouts.

Give me Mora!!

Gimmicky? A little. Combination of two quality products? Absolutely! Would I use this as my primary knife in the woods? No, more of a secondary knife. Great for bushcraft and survival. One of the sharpest knives out of the box you'll come across. Keeps its edge very well. I'm gonna make my own leather sheath, with sharpening stone, as Mora puts their money into the knife, not the sheath. It's just fun to have!!
