Lasso Lock II Security Cable

Lasso Lock II security cable easily secures your kayak to any standard rooftop rack, deterring theft of your watercraft in the driveway or the backcountry. Made with vinyl-coated, super-tough, 3/8-in. galvanized steel cabling for serious protection and peace of mind; total cable length is 16 ft. Integrated tamper-proof barrel lock with combination dials removes the worry of keeping up with keys. Secures in seconds and removes easily with no tools required; can be attached to standard car racks or even to a tree. 16-in. diameter cable loops will accommodate tandem and sit-on-top kayaks. Includes rugged Cordura™ nylon storage sack with drawcord closure to keep your Lasso lock clean and tangle free during storage or transport.

Not good enough to secure my Carolina 14

I was skeptical that this fairly thin cable lock would do the job. I commute by boat, and lock up at Fletcher's overnight. The lock seemed to be a good deterrent all summer, until someone decided to test it a couple of nites ago and evidently got through the lock and got away with my boat. [$] for a deterrent?
