Great Boot, Great Price
I have only hiked in trail running shoes and just made due. For a once in a lifetime backpacking trip to Alaska I knew I needed to update my foot gear. After reading a bit I knew that a light weight, mid-rise boot would suit my needs. We were keeping our packs just below 25 lbs so I thought a heavy hiker boot would be over kill and kill my budget. I also needed my custom orthotics to fit and handle well. These boots accomadate my customs perfectly.Another important feature for me was being waterproof. I went into REI and tried on a few boots knowing I wanted to not mess with ordering any and maybe returning them. This boot felt really comfortable in the store and was at my price point. I walked in them for a couple of weeks on afternoon walks to break them in and get used to having something over my ankles (I was not used to that) but it was not necessary at all. They felt great out on the box on my neighborhood street. On the trail they handled very well. I was impressed with how much grip they had compared to hiking in trail runners (Brooks Cascadia) like I had on previous hi

Great find!
I purchased these boots right before my trip to multiple national parks. I usually wear my running shoes hiking as I have never been a fan of hiking boots, but figured I would try them out. At first they felt too small, but I just needed to loosen the laces. After my first hike with them (only a few hours) my feet felt great. They came in handy after I rolled my ankle on a trail run too. Love these boot!

Lightweight and extremely comfortable
The most extremely lightweight and comfortable boots I have ever owned! Great traction over uneven ground and keep my socks dry when walking in wet conditions. I use my boots for hiking, and plan to try them on my bicycle and even when riding my endurance horses.

Adding to my first review of the Verdi
I was able to test the Verdi's on a 16k mountain hike where the trail was a mix of basalt, crushed basalt, red

Cute yet tough!
So far, I have only used them once but I was pleasantly surprised. Because I'm mostly in uniform, I am particular about not looking too boyish in my civilian clothes(yes, even while hiking). These shoes look great as well as feel great. I have very low arches so I needed something flatter as well as something with great ankle support. This product provides both. I also did not feel too hot in them but I can imagine people that tend to have sweaty feet feeling a little too hot in them on a hot daytime hike. Other than that I personally love the shoes and am glad to have made this purchase.

Super comfy!
Great, comfortable hikers right out of the box. No breaking in required. Had some trouble deciding whether to go waterproof or not and am so glad I did. Just one more thing not to worry about and I have not found that my feet get hot in them.

Lightweight Hikers with Good Grip
I have been hiking in the Keen Alamosa for years and was looking for a replacement with better ankle support and stickier traction. The Verdi II is a decent boot: it's lightweight, grippy, and very comfortable. However, the insole is not quite as supportive as the Alamosa, and although it has Keen Dry it is not fully waterproof. I found that out the hard way after a late spring hike turned snowy. Also, be aware that this boot has an even wider toe box than most Keens. I happen to love that feature, but it might not be for everyone. I think that this boot will be fine for the next two seasons, but I'd really like to see Keen make a mid-hiker version of the Alamosa with better traction.

Maybe too light?
At last count this boot is my 15th pair of Keens. I buy them because they fit, protect my toes from my Great Dane, have a decently high instep, arch in the right place for my feet, price point OK if I watch for sales, and I can get many many miles out of

Keen Hiking Boots
I recently bought these and I love them. The sole is very comfortable and it has good arch and ankle support. I have only done day hikes in these, if I did a longer hike I am afraid the bottom of my feet might get sore because the sole is not as thick as other boots. I like this though because I can feel the ground better. These boots look much better in person then in the pictures displayed.
