It's a bike shoe in disguise! Modeled after the popular Austin urban trekkers, the Keen Austin Pedal has old-school Oxford styling with bike shoe functionality. Shoes feature a 3/4-length SPD-compatible plate and a thermoplastic urethane cleat tap plate; cleats are sold separately. Full-grain leather uppers are water- and stain-resistant yet supple for a comfortable fit; classic Blucher-style lacing secures instep. Complementary leather accents and contrast stitching around ankle and eyelets add to the hip styling; more stitched lines run from eyelets to arches. Supple leather-lined heel pockets and Cambrelle® lining in the forefoot enhance comfort and moisture control. Patented rubber Toe Guard and wraparound heels protect feet and uppers against bumps and abrasion. Removable Metatomical EVA footbeds are custom shaped to provide ample cushioning, rebound and arch support; will accommodate orthotics. Contoured EVA foam midsoles support and buffer feet against shock and fatigue. Durable, nonmarking carbon rubber outsoles are anti-slip and oil-resistant, and offer ample traction in all environments.
