One of the BEST purchases of the year.
Although they ran small once we got the right size these shoes quickly became her first choice everyday.

Active girl meets the right shoe
This is for an active pre-teen who cannot even bother with laces. The pull-string is a good solution but she doesn't even do it up and the shoe stays on her feet. Her forefoot is wider than normal and these fit so comfortably on her. Her feet pronates a little bit so we need shoes that help control that from worsening. This shoe weighs more than the average running shoe so this is not meant for gym wear. The colour gets her approval - not too girly nor does it look like a boys shoe. We rely on Keens - sandals and sports shoes - because she wears out regular shoes by the toes (Reebok, NIke…). We love it so much that I bought Keens sandals for myself.

My daughter loves these shoes!
Great all around hiking shoe! My daughter wouldn't take them off.

Putting these on always causes pain
Totally impractical! Every time I put these shoes on my toddler, its a struggle due to the excessively stiff heel and upper. Despite the fact they are the right size, putting them on always hurts my toddler. We've never had this issue with other shoes. As an adult, I struggle to put them on. There is no way that a small child could put these on by themselves. Superior toddler shoes exist with better fasteners (ie. New Balance with velcro). I'd suggest them instead.Very poor execution by Keen for a small child's shoe.
