In the late 1800s/ Everett began to develop from the homesteaders who sought wealth from timber and ore. Because of its location to Port Gardner Bay/ the area was an ideal passageway for timber and most of its waterfront was dedicated to that industry. Everetts proximity to the ever changing and advancing technology and manufacturing industries/ from Weyerhaeuser and Fluke/ to Boeing and Kimberly Clark paper mill/ has shaped the city into what it is today.
