Instructions for Three Room Camping Tents

Instructions for Three Room Camping Tents
A three-room camping tent is convenient for family camping trips as it allows more privacy than a traditional tent. These tents are usually much larger than basic tents and may be heavier or more cumbersome to transport to the campsite on extended hikes. The instructions for pitching a three-room tent are relatively simple and very similar to the process used on smaller tents, although two people may be needed for the process due to the size of the tent.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Tent Tent stakes Poles
  • Tent
  • Tent stakes
  • Poles
Step 1
Unfold the canvas tent in the desired location and make sure the main door is facing the correct direction. Unzip all of the outer doors at this time.
Step 2
Stake down the four corners of the tent so that the canvas is stretched taut.
Step 3
Assemble the tent poles. Tent poles are typically shock-corded so that one section will slide easily into the next. The Coleman Elite Weathermaster Tent, for example, contains four curved tent poles, which form the main supports of the tent. Insert these tent poles into the tent pole sleeves located along the top of the tent. Other tent models may have different tent poles but the basic process is the same. Once the tent poles are in the sleeves, attach the ends of the poles to the rings, pins or holes located on the tent to secure them.
Step 4
Insert any remaining tent poles into the corresponding sleeves. Some large tents will also contain leg poles to provide additional stability to the tent. Once all of the tent poles have been inserted into the tent and secured at the base of the tent, the tent will pop into shape.
Step 5
Locate any additional loops along the bottom outer edge of the tent. Stake down the tent at these loops. Larger tents usually require more than four tent stakes to ensure that they remain grounded during high wind or inclement weather.
