How to Get a Tourist Visa in Australia

How to Get a Tourist Visa in Australia
Australia is one of the most popular international tourist destinations for the outdoors enthusiast. The country offers a wide range of outdoors environments to enjoy during your stay, from the Australian Outback, to rain forests, to the Gold Coast. Depending on the length of trip that you are planning to Australia and your country of origin, you may need to acquire a tourist visa for your stay. As long as you plan ahead and submit your request for a tourist visa with enough lead time, you will be able to get a tourist visa for your trip.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step 1
Navigate to the Australian Electronic Travel Authority website listed in the Resources section of this article. Choose the "Apply for Visa" menu option and accept the terms of service requested by the website. You will then be asked to enter your passport information on the subsequent web page. If you are traveling from a Western country with a valid passport, you will be able to use the online application.
Step 2
Choose the variant of passport visa that you are requesting. For tourists who are planning an extended stay in Australia, the appropriate entry to make is the "Visitor" application. You will also be queried for your email address to use for the visa application.
Step 3
Verify the accuracy of your application information on the subsequent web page. If you enter your passport number or name inaccurately, your visa request could be denied in error, requiring you to spend additional money to refile your request.
Step 4
Annotate the visa request reference number that is displayed and enter a valid credit or debit card to make your payment for the Australian Tourist Visa and authorize the payment on your card. You will receive an email when your visa request is approved from the Australian authorities, and the visa will be mailed to your address of record provided on the application.
