How to Get the Best Hotel Deal in Las Vegas

How to Get the Best Hotel Deal in Las Vegas
If you thought visiting Las Vegas was impossible because it's too expensive, then think again. With a few tips, you can save money on your next trip and get the best hotel deals. This is a city full of outdoor recreational and leisure activities including hiking, fishing and golfing. The best hotel deals are within your grasp if you're willing to be flexible.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step 1
Look for hotels that offer packages deals, especially if you plan on doing more than one activity while in Las Vegas. Las Vegas Golf Getaways, for example, offers vacation packages that include accommodations at a hotel such as the Mirage, Mandalay Bay or the Four Seasons and a round of golf at one of the nearby courses. You can find similar deals for other sporting and outdoor activities.
Step 2
Search for hotel deals during the offseason. Vegas doesn't have an offseason the way some resort cities do, but business slows down at the end of winter and in the middle of summer. You can find better deals if you're willing to stay when the temperature is at its highest or lowest.
Step 3
Call the hotel directly and negotiate on the price. Larger hotels such as the Mirage and MGM Grand are less likely to negotiate on their prices, but smaller hotels and those that are independently owned might offer a price cut. Call the hotel directly and ask about a lower price rather than calling a toll-free line that sends you to customer service.
Step 4
Stay in a hotel that's located off The Strip area. The Strip runs through the center of town and is popular with tourists, but this also leads to a higher price at most hotels. Save money and find a better deal simply by expanding your search. You'll still be close to the action and some of the more popular attractions.
Step 5
Opt for a hotel in Las Vegas that includes something to justify the price. An example is any hotel that offers a free breakfast, such as the Hampton Inn and Suites. This helps cut the costs of your trip, and you can also snag a few healthy snacks and fresh squeezed juice for later in the day.

Tips & Warnings

Take advantage of clubs you belong to and membership cards. AAA and Sam's Club offer hotel discounts for members at a variety of places.
