Lots of adventure travelers have Egypt on their list of countries they would like to visit. You can't go just anywhere to see such amazing sites as the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx. Americans who wish to travel to Egypt must have a tourist visa. Usually, you can obtain one when you arrive in Egypt and do not need to make application beforehand. In fact, most Egyptian airlines keep applications on board. However, if you'd like to apply for your Egyptian visa ahead of time, you are able to do so. It's a good idea if you don't plan to arrive through a major port of entry.
