How to Use a North Face Extreme Jacket

How to Use a North Face Extreme Jacket
When facing extremely cold conditions, you want to have a winter coat designed to block out the wind and insulate the heat. The North Face Extreme jacket fits the bill. It is an all-around cold-weather jacket that is not being produced anymore by North Face. However, you may still be able to find the jacket in a few different specialty coat stores. When making your way through the harsh elements, The North Face Extreme jacket may be just what you're looking for.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • The North Face Extreme jacket
  • Sweatshirt
Step 1
Place a sweatshirt or sweater over your current clothing. Once the temperature begins to drop below the freezing point, you will want all the additional layers you can get.
Step 2
Put on The North Face Extreme jacket. It should reach one-third of the way down your thighs.
Step 3
Insert any sort of musical device into one of the interior pockets. There are several to choose from. This will keep it out of the elements, which is good because electronics and cold don't always mix.
Step 4
Zip the front of the coat all the way up (which will be close to chin level). Button the exterior buttons to cover the zipper. This will prevent wind from cutting through the zipper.
Step 5
Pull the hood over your head. There will be a mouth and face protector. This is more to keep the wind off your face than it is to keep it warm. Button the two sides together to secure it.
Step 6
Adjust the wristbands. You can make them tighter to better insulate the heat in your arms by unstrapping the Velcro band and tightening it around your wrist. Do this for both sides.
