Available exclusively from Walmart, Ozark Trail tents are high-quality, inexpensive tents that are great for both inexperienced and veteran campers. Assembling an Ozark Trail tent is simple, leaving you more time to focus on camping activities like hiking and mountain biking.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Ozark Trail tent
  • 2 tent poles (included)
  • Rain cover (included)
  • 4 stakes (included)
  • Plastic tarp
  • Hammer
Step 1
Select an area to pitch your tent. The area you choose should be relatively flat and free of sharp rocks or gravel.
Step 2
Unpack the pieces of the tent and make sure everything is there. You should have the tent itself, two sets of tent poles, a rain cover and four stakes.
Step 3
Lay a plastic tarp on the ground where you will be pitching the tent to protect the bottom of the tent from punctures and moisture. Roll out the tent on top of the protective tarp.
Step 4
Unfold the tent poles and snap each segment into the corresponding endcap. Thread the first pole through the fabric loops of the tent diagonally and snap the ends of the pole into the feet at the corners of the tent. Repeat the process with the other tent pole.
Step 5
Use a hammer to pound a stake into the ground at each corner of the tent. The stakes should be secure in the soil.
Step 6
Attach the rain cover to the tent by hooking the loops on the rain cover through the hooks on the tent.

Tips & Warnings

Situate the opening of the tent so that it is protected from direct sun or harsh wind.

Have a second person help you thread the tent poles through the loops on the tent to reduce the risk of breaking the plastic tent poles.
