How to Find Good Swimming Wear for Your Body Type

How to Find Good Swimming Wear for Your Body Type
Fitting swimsuits properly presents quite the challenge to many individuals. If you have an ideal, toned body shape, you can wear just about any type of swimsuit. However, for most people, there are certain areas of the body that may not be quite as fit as they would like. Choosing the right cut and style of swimwear can accentuate your positive attributes while minimizing your negative ones. With any swimsuit, remember to look for a good quality fabric that will hold up well in relaxing leisure activities as well as in water sports.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Women's Swimwear

Step 1
Try a swimsuit that has a skirt if you are heavier in the rear. For thick thighs or short legs, select a swimsuit that has a higher-cut leg in order to visually add length and slim your lower half.
Step 2
Wear a swimsuit that has sturdy straps, a higher neckline, and a built-in bra if you are large in the bust. Try a built-in bra that's molded and has some underwire if you are small-chested and want to enhance this area.
Step 3
Choose a bathing suit with a built-in tummy slimmer if your midsection is not as toned as you'd like. If your stomach is in good shape, but you're not that curvy overall, try a belted swimsuit.

Men's Swimsuits

Step 1
Go for a bikini-style swimsuit if you are in very good physical shape. These types of suits allow for flexibility of movement and are favored by athletes such as swimmers and divers; square-cut shorts are similar in construction, reaching to the mid-thigh. Both types of suits can be worn by anyone but will not flatter less toned body types.
Step 2
Boxer-style swimwear is very comfortable and suitable for all body types. Make sure the waist is large enough so you aren't accentuating any extra padding in your midsection.
Step 3
Board shorts are favored by surfers and look best on younger men and teenagers. They are long and flatter slender body types.
