Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Groundcloth Stakes Poles Hammer
  • Groundcloth
  • Stakes
  • Poles
  • Hammer
Step 1
Locate a dry, level surface large enough for your tent. Try to avoid exposed areas as well as areas downhill of a slope to prevent being washed away in case of a heavy storm. Clear any debris from the ground. Unfold your tarp or groundcloth and place it as a footprint for the tent.
Step 2
Unroll the tent onto the ground cloth. Check to see that the door is facing in the intended direction. Put the tent stakes into the corner loops and use the hammer to secure them in the ground.
Step 3
Assemble the poles. The longer poles will be used to erect the tent. The shorter pole is for the rainfly. Weave the longer poles diagonally through the sleeves on top of the tent. Place the ends in the grommets on the tent corners and erect the tent. Secure the poles by tying or hooking any appendages from the tent to the poles.
Step 4
Unfold the rainfly and insert the remaining pole into the sleeves to assemble it. Place it over the top of the tent and use the hooks on the corners of the fly to attach it to the tent.
Step 5
Tighten any loose connections between the fly and the tent and the tent and the ground (check the stakes).
