Zebco 33 Instructions

Zebco 33 Instructions
The Zebco 33 is a spin-cast reel manufactured by the Zebco Corporation and is the culmination of research, design and innovation over many years. Designed to be an easy-to-use reel suitable for the beginner or more advanced angler, the Zebco 33 is sturdy and suitable for taking on a wide variety of fish ranging from trout to large-mouth bass.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Zebco 33 and Matching Rod Monofilament Fishing Line
  • Zebco 33 and Matching Rod
  • Monofilament Fishing Line
Step 1
Press the large release button on the back of the reel. The button disengages the spool-winding mechanism, which is located inside the front housing. As long as the button is pressed the line will not unspool. Releasing the button allows the line to freely unspool from the reel.
Step 2
Continue to hold the button of the reel as the rod is brought back and then forward to cast the lure or bait to the target on the water.
Step 3
Release the button as the rod tip moves toward the target. This will allow the line to unspool from the reel.
Step 4
Engage the spool-winding mechanism when the bait or lure has entered the water and reached the desired depth. Turning the handle of the reel forward will engage the mechanism.
Step 5
Retrieve the line and lure by turning the handle of the reel in a forward motion. This will cause the winding mechanism to take in and wind the line around the spool of the reel.

Tips & Warnings

Perform routine maintenance as directed in the instruction manual of the reel to ensure proper operation of the Zebco 33 reel.

If the reel becomes difficult to wind, perform routine maintenance. If this does not resolve the problem, send the reel in for repair.
