Register your Sage fly reel for warranty and repair service. If you purchase a Sage rod, you must register the rod with Sage Manufacturing to take advantage of the original owner warranty. The process, which you can only do by mail, is required for repairs. Once you register the fly rod for repair, Sage Manufacturing will determine if the repair work is approved under the terms of the lifetime warranty.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step 1
Check the serial number on your Sage fly rod, located opposite the Sage logo on the butt section of the rod in black ink, to verify warranty coverage. The serial number will be one or two letters followed by five numbers. The owner warranty is only applicable for fly rods that have a serial number starting with the letter "M" or higher. The letters "A to L" indicate that a rod is only subject to repair for defect in materials or workmanship.
Step 2
Register the fly rod for repair. Write a brief letter with your name, shipping address, contact number and e-mail address, as well as a short statement about the nature of the problem.
Step 3
Mail the letter to Sage Manufacturing, 8500 Northeast Day Road, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110
Step 4
Pay shipping costs, $50 as of August 201. Alternatively, return the fly rod in person.

Tips & Warnings

Sage offers phone support at (206) 842-6608 or (800) 533-3004.

Sage blanks do not carry serial numbers. Custom-built rods put together from blanks do not have this distinguishing mark.
