Making a rack for your fishing poles keeps them off the ground and, more importantly, safely out of the reach of children or others who may be careless around the equipment. The rack is made from a few items found at hardware or home-improvement stores. It can be put together fairly quickly without assistance, and it requires only basic tools.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:
  • 1 1/2-inch PVC pipe
  • 1 1/2-inch PVC T connectors
  • Screws
  • Drill
  • Drill bit
  • Level
  • Eyebolts
  • Bungee cord
Step 1
Attach the 1 1/2-inch diameter PVC pipe sections together with the PVC T connectors in between. Use several T connectors. This will create a horizontal pipeline with pipes coming up.
Step 2
Hold it up to the wall, a few feet from the ground, and make sure that the main pipe is horizontal to the floor. Use a level to make sure it is level on the wall. Drill a pilot hole through the pipe into the wall with a drill bit that is smaller than the screws being used. This will make drilling the screw in easier. Drill the screws in the inside of the pipe and into the wall. Drill one into one side and the readjust the pipe to make sure it is still level before making a pilot hole and screwing in the other side. The fishing poles will sit in the open ends of the T connectors.
Step 3
Set the poles in the holes so you see how far up the wall they go.
Step 4
Screw an eyebolt into the wall on either side of the pole. Slip a bungee cord into one eyebolt and stretch it across to the other to hold the poles back.
