Alaska has some incredible rivers and lakes where you can go fishing. The state's game and fish department has simplified the process of getting a fishing license by going online and filling in the blanks with answers to the specific information requested. Once payment has been processed, your fishing license can be printed and you can go fishing immediately. The state of Alaska mails a copy of the license if you select a fishing license that lasts for more than 14 days.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Credit or debit card
  • Driver's license
Step 1
Sign onto the state of Alaska's website for hunting and fishing licenses. The address is listed in this article's Resource section. It will take you directly to where you can obtain your fishing license. Have your driver's license and credit or debit card at hand.

Some people combine an outdoor adventure in Alaska with a fishing trip, so having a fishing license and gear will allow you to catch a few fish. This allows you can pack less food for a day trip or on a wilderness backpacking vacation.
Step 2
Click on the button at the top of the website for fishing licenses. You will be taken to a series of forms where you need to put in specifics, including your name, date of birth, driver's license number and address. Your phone number and email address are optional.

However, if you run into problems printing your license, the state will send a copy to your email address. You could get a fishing license if you take your laptop computer and a printer with you on your outdoor expeditions where you can get a wireless signal.
Step 3
Select the kind of license you want from the pull-down menu. The state issues fishing licenses for one day to two weeks as well as annual licenses. Once you have selected the license desired, pay using a credit or debit card.
