Schwinn Air Driver 1100 Pump Instructions

Schwinn Air Driver 1100 Pump Instructions
Bicycle tires come with one of two different types of valves--Presta valves or Schrader valves. To be the most useful, a bicycle pump should be able to accommodate both types of tire valves without difficulty or without requiring adapters. The Schwinn Air Driver 1100 does this, and also has an integrated needle for pumping up balls--a nice addition that does away with having to store and find pump needles when you need one.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Schrader and Presta Valves

Step 1
Place the locking lever of the pump parallel with the hose. The locking lever is located by the pump nozzle.
Step 2
Push the appropriate pump nozzle firmly onto the open valve of your tire. Pull the locking lever up while applying pressure, to lock the nozzle onto the valve.
Step 3
Pump the tire by moving the handle up and down. Check the pressure of the tire by observing the reading on the gauge. Some users of the pump have reported that an automatic "valve selection" feature that directs the air to the proper nozzle doesn't work when pumping up a completely flat tire or ball. If the pump isn't working. Unhook the nozzle, stick the end of the tire pumping nozzle into your mouth and blow firmly--you'll feel a valve switch. Place the nozzle back onto the tire and resume pumping.
Step 4
Move the locking lever back to parallel with the hose while holding the nozzle onto the valve and quickly pull the nozzle away from the valve when it has been released.

Balls

Step 1
Twist the gray plastic ring around the ball-filler pin on the nozzle. Turn the ring until the pin is all the way out.
Step 2
Slide the needle into the ball.
Step 3
Push the handle up and down to pump up the ball. Check the pressure on the gauge as you go.
Step 4
Pull the pin straight out when the proper inflation pressure is reached. Twist the gray ring to retract the pin.
