Starcraft Meteor campers are unique in the fact that they have only one side which pulls out, but it is a king-size bed. With an eight-foot box, it is an ideal pop up for one person or a couple. The Meteor is fully equipped with refrigerator, stove, sink, water storage of five gallons, a 12v system and two awnings. While it is compact, four people can be comfortable in it. Set up of the Meteor can be done on your own in about 20 minutes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:
  • Guy-lines
  • Stakes
  • Rubber mallet
Step 1
Stabilize the trailer first by leveling it and lowering the corner jacks. Loosen the roof latches and raise the roof to shoulder level.
Step 2
Unzip the awning bag and unroll the awning. Inside the awning are the upright poles and the spring loaded tension bars. The crosspiece bar with holes in it is already in place at the end of the awning.
Step 3
Find the desired height for the upright poles, and twist them clockwise to lock them in place.
Step 4
Begin with the center pole, place the pin at the end of the upright pole into the hole which is on the end of the spring loaded tension bar, and then slide the pin into the hole in the crosspiece along the front of the awning.
Step 5
Place the end of the spring loaded tension bar against the trailer just under the lip of the top. Release the pressure on it, and the pressure of the spring will hold it in place. Do the same to the two corners.
Step 6
Raise the camper to its full height, after all three of the uprights and tension bars are in place. Once the camper is raised, adjust the upright poles for the desired height and angle of the awning.

Tips & Warnings

For added stability add guy-lines to your uprights, and stake them down with a rubber mallet.

Practice setting up your awning and trailer before your first camping trip, it will help you enjoy it.
